Sunbelt Staffing is hiring an experienced Special Education Teacher (SPED) for a full-time, school-based opportunity for the 2026–2027 school year. This position is ideal for educators with a strong background in autism services who are passionate about supporting young learners in a structured, collaborative classroom environment.

- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Hours: Full-time
- School Assignment: 1 campus
Caseload & Responsibilities
- Serve students in Pre-K through 1st Grade
- Self-contained Autism classroom
- Caseload of approximately 6–8 students
- Support a primarily nonverbal, high-needs student population
- Work alongside 2 paraprofessionals in the classroom
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including BCBAs, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and other support staff
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver specialized instruction that promotes functional communication, positive behavior, and student independence
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to support students with autism and complex communication needs
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) certification required
- Active PreK–3 Teaching Certificate required (K–6 certification will not be accepted)
- Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) certification will also be considered when paired with the required credential
- Previous autism classroom experience is required
- Experience supporting nonverbal students and implementing behavior interventions is strongly preferred
- Must meet all state and district employment requirements
