Occupational Therapist School Setting in New Castle, DE

Step into an exciting contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist supporting students in a thriving educational environment near New Castle, DE. Beginning in late August 2026 and continuing through early June 2027, you’ll play a key role in empowering students from elementary to high school to achieve greater independence and success within their everyday school routines.
Three onsite positions are available, each offering a unique caseload:
- Shared assignment between Lancashire and Maple Lane Elementary
- Mount Pleasant Elementary
- Split role supporting both middle and high school students
Enjoy a full-time schedule (37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch) while collaborating with dedicated educational professionals committed to student growth. You’ll focus on delivering high-quality occupational therapy services, developing individualized treatment plans, managing evaluation and documentation, and working closely with teachers and families to promote best outcomes for each child.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Delaware Occupational Therapist license (required)
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy
- Previous pediatric or school-based OT experience is strongly preferred
- Committed to completing state-required background check and fingerprinting ($85 fee)
- COTA applicants cannot be considered for these roles
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Able to work independently across multiple school sites as assigned
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy interventions to students within IEP/504 service frameworks
- Conduct assessments and contribute to multidisciplinary team processes
- Document progress and collaborate with staff and families
- Create engaging, individualized activities to address fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills
