Make an impact supporting K-12 students as an Occupational Therapist in an itinerant role for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position offers the opportunity to collaborate with educators and families, deliver direct therapy services, participate in IEP meetings, and provide evaluations across multiple schools in the Norfolk area. You’ll play a pivotal role in empowering students to build crucial skills for academic and social success.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapy license in Virginia required
- Previous experience as a school-based OT—comfortable serving students in grades K-12
- Strong evaluation and documentation abilities
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Capable of managing an itinerant schedule, traveling to various sites as needed
- Experience participating in IEP processes and developing student-centered interventions
- Commitment to professional ethics and safeguarding student confidentiality
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services to a diverse caseload of K-12 students
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and re-evaluations as needed
- Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, contributing valuable input
- Develop and implement intervention strategies tailored to individual student needs
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to maximize student outcomes
- Adapt services and supports for varying school environments across assigned sites
