Occupational Therapist School Setting in Orland Park, IL
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity focused on early childhood care as an Occupational Therapist. This role centers on providing dedicated support to young learners in a hands-on, play-based academic environment. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team passionate about integrating language therapy, motor therapies, and technology to support students’ growth and independence.
In this onsite position, you’ll serve an early childhood caseload (final numbers to be determined) throughout the 26/27 school year, dedicating 32.5 hours each week to creative and purposeful interventions. Your expertise will help shape developmental milestones and foster a supportive environment where curiosity and learning thrive.
Qualifications and Desired Experience
- Valid Illinois Occupational Therapy license required
- Prior experience with early childhood or pediatric populations preferred
- Familiarity with integrated service delivery and hands-on, exploratory learning models
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively document interventions and contribute to IEP processes
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver occupational therapy services to early childhood students in a classroom-based setting
- Engage students in activities designed to build academic and functional skills through play and exploration
- Collaborate closely with speech, motor, and technology specialists within an integrated teaching team
- Educate staff and families on strategies to support student growth and inclusion
- Participate actively in team meetings, planning, and student progress reviews
