Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active Illinois OT license (or eligibility)
- Prior experience delivering OT services in a school environment preferred
- Familiarity with IEPs, assessments, and development of individualized plans
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt strategies to diverse elementary, middle, or high school populations
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students’ sensory, developmental, and functional abilities
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans targeting students’ educational needs
- Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and families to support IEP goals
- Provide direct occupational therapy services, both one-on-one and in small groups
- Document student progress, write reports, and participate in IEP meetings
- Offer consultation and training to school staff regarding best practices and classroom accommodations
- Stay current with trends and innovations in school-based occupational therapy
