In this contract position, you’ll play a crucial part in enhancing the educational experience for children by helping them build the skills they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond. Your day will include travel between various school sites—primarily five elementary schools, and occasionally the middle and high school. The assignments span a roughly 13-mile radius, with most locations conveniently clustered.
Key qualifications:
- Active OT license and credentials required
- Experience offering occupational therapy services in a school environment
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- Flexibility to provide services across multiple locations, sometimes in a single day
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach to supporting diverse student populations
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between sites
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy to students as prescribed in IEPs
- Assess students’ developmental and functional needs in school settings
- Develop, implement, and monitor therapy plans to facilitate academic participation
- Document sessions, maintain accurate records, and communicate progress with educational staff and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
- Adapt therapy strategies as students’ needs and environments evolve
