This full-time, contract occupational therapy position offers a chance to make a meaningful impact in K-12 settings for the 2026-2027 school year, with orientation scheduled from August 12th to August 14th. The caseload and grade levels will be determined, allowing for a dynamic and engaging experience onsite throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois OT or COTA license required (documentation must be submitted with your application)
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of best practices in educational occupational therapy for K-12 students
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with educators, students, and families
- Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate changing caseload needs
- Commitment to supporting students with special needs and fostering their success in school environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services as specified in student IEPs and in line with school guidelines
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to diverse student populations
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including teachers, school psychologists, and related service providers
- Document progress and maintain up-to-date student records
- Support families and school staff through training, resources, and consultation
- Participate in orientation and ongoing professional development opportunities
