School Occupational Therapist - Plano, Illinois

This role is ideal for a passionate Occupational Therapist who values individualized support, creative problem solving, and team collaboration. The assignment spans from late August to late October, with orientation provided on August 3rd and 4th, ensuring you’re fully equipped for a successful transition. Your schedule consists of 37.5 hours per week, allowing you to maintain strong work-life balance while making a real difference.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Occupational Therapist license (IDFPR)
- Experience working in school-based settings or with pediatric populations is highly valued
- Ability to develop and implement individualized and group therapy plans
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Adaptability when working with students in both resource and self-contained elementary settings
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ strengths and needs in collaboration with educators and parents
- Develop and implement therapy interventions targeting key functional and educational skills
- Document therapy provided and progress toward student goals in accordance with district standards
- Provide consultation and support to teachers and staff for best-practice integration in the classroom
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting and progress reports
