Step into an on-site contract opportunity supporting students across the western region of Wake County. This position is perfect for a dedicated Occupational Therapist who thrives in a dynamic, school-based environment and is eager to impact student success in elementary, middle, and high school settings. This year-round role operates under a progressive workload model, ensuring your caseload is thoughtfully managed and adjusted each month.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina OT license (NCBOT)
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (preferred)
- Minimum of one year of post–fieldwork, school-based occupational therapy experience (experience during fieldwork or graduate school does not qualify)
- Familiarity with educational documentation including ECATS and IEPs
- Direct experience working in North Carolina schools is highly desirable
- Proficient with administering and interpreting motor screenings and OT evaluations for students in K–12 settings
- Deep experience with the Sensory Processing Measure–2 (SPM-2) and Sensory Profile 2
- Expertise with commonly used standardized school-based OT assessments and clear understanding of applying assessment results in relation to educational needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive OT screenings and evaluations using a variety of standardized assessments and clinical observations
- Provide therapy services tailored to student IEPs and functional goals within the school environment
- Consult with educational staff and families to promote student access and participation
- Document all therapy sessions and progress in accordance with district guidelines
- Collaborate actively with an engaged interdisciplinary team to best support students’ academic and functional performance
- Workload and site assignments are based on student needs; details and expectations will be reviewed in the prescreening process
