This full-time, on-site contract position offers the unique opportunity to support multiple campuses on the western side of Wake County. You will work closely within a collaborative team focused on each student’s success, utilizing a dynamic workload model that ensures balanced case management.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Active OT license through the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT)
- Post-graduate OT degree—Master’s preferred
- Documented experience as a school-based OT following completion of your final fieldwork (post-FW2); direct school system experience outside of graduate programs is essential
- Strongly prefer prior North Carolina school-based experience
- Deep familiarity navigating ECATS; proficient with the IEP process in school environments
- Demonstrated ability to provide therapy, conduct and document services in public school settings
- Proficiency with commonly used standardized school-based OT assessments; required to be skilled in Sensory Processing Measure–2 (SPM-2) and Sensory Profile 2
- Strong grasp of linking assessment results to students’ educational planning and support
- Ability to conduct thorough motor screenings and functional OT evaluations in accordance with relevant state standards
- NPI number registration and NC Tracks required before start date
- Willingness to complete DCDEE fingerprinting and background check
Primary Responsibilities:
- Offer therapy and consultative OT services to students across multiple grade levels based on the district’s workload model
- Assess, document, and track progress for students, directly connecting OT intervention plans to classroom and educational outcomes
- Collaborate with IEP teams and participate in regular reassessment to meet evolving needs
