School Occupational Therapist | Raleigh, North Carolina

This contract-based, on-site position begins 30 days from offer and follows a year-round school track. You’ll work full-time in elementary, middle, and high school environments on the western side of Wake County, with the district reevaluating therapist workload monthly for balanced support.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT) license required
- Post-graduate degree in Occupational Therapy, master’s preferred
- Demonstrated school-based OT experience (beyond fieldwork/graduate placements)
- Experience with NC schools highly desirable
- Familiarity with ECATS, IEP development, and documentation in school settings
- Proficient in conducting motor screenings and OT evaluations aligned to educational programs and state standards
- Experience using standardized assessments relevant to school-based practice
- Strong skills in SPM-2 and Sensory Profile 2 administration and interpretation
- Must secure an NPI number and register with NC Tracks prior to the start date
- DCDEE fingerprinting and background check required
Responsibilities:
- Serve multiple campuses, delivering occupational therapy to a diverse age range of students within the district’s workload model
- Collaborate with school staff on IEPs and individualized student interventions
- Evaluate and document student progress through assessments and regular service tracking
- Interpret assessment results, tailoring recommendations to support educational outcomes
- Stay current on best practices and statewide guidelines impacting school-based occupational therapy
