Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) for a school-based contract position in Roanoke, Virginia for the 2026–2027 academic year. This position supports students across elementary and middle school settings, with a primary focus on elementary caseloads.
This is an excellent opportunity for an OT who is passionate about helping students succeed in special education and general education classrooms, including working with students with autism and adaptive needs.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and student assessments
Develop, write, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and multidisciplinary teams
Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with IDEA and school district guidelines
Manage a caseload of Pre-K through middle school students
Caseload & Schools
Approx. 2 elementary schools + 1 middle school
PK–8th grade caseload, with a heavier focus on elementary students
Qualifications
Active Virginia Occupational Therapist License
Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
Previous school-based OT experience preferred
Knowledge of IEP processes, special education services, and school-based therapy delivery
Strong collaboration and communication skills
