School Occupational Therapist - Rochelle, Illinois
Make a significant impact supporting students’ growth by providing occupational therapy services during the school year. This full-time contract opportunity is designed for experienced Occupational Therapists ready to support elementary and middle-grade students across two local sites. No midday travel is needed—each day is dedicated to one location, offering a stable and consistent schedule.
As an onsite W-2 employee, you’ll collaborate with faculty and families, primarily working in general education and resource settings, with some time in self-contained special education classrooms. The variety of student needs will allow you to apply your skills in sensory integration, develop tailored interventions, and make measurable student progress.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Active Illinois Occupational Therapist licensure.
- Previous experience in schools or pediatric settings.
- Familiarity with sensory integration and providing therapy to school-aged children.
- Proficiency in setting student goals and documenting progress.
- Comfort supporting a diverse caseload from elementary through middle grades.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing evidence-based occupational therapy services to students
- Completing assessments, goal-setting, and progress monitoring
- Designing individualized intervention strategies based on students’ needs
- Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, and families
- Traveling only between the two sites, one per day
- Documenting and reporting for compliance and student success
