School Occupational Therapist - Salem, Virginia

What we’re seeking:
- Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous pediatric or school-based experience highly valued
- Ability to assess, plan, and deliver effective therapy in academic settings
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills—comfortable working alongside families, teachers, and other school staff
- Adaptable, compassionate, and motivated to empower students of varying abilities
- Ability to efficiently manage a full-time caseload (up to 37 hours per week), with organizational skills to balance documentation and therapy sessions
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluate student needs and design individualized therapy plans to address challenges in fine motor skills, sensory integration, and self-regulation
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students, with a focus on supporting educational participation
- Collaborate with educators and families to integrate therapy strategies into classroom routines
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records in compliance with relevant regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
