School Occupational Therapist - San Bernardino, California
Make a difference in the lives of students as an Occupational Therapist supporting schools in the San Bernardino, CA area. We’re seeking two dedicated professionals—one for a full-time, full school year contract and another for a full-time maternity leave coverage (projected August start through March)—to provide crucial services to a diverse K-12 student population, including those with mild to severe disabilities.
Your ability to independently assess, consult, and make data-driven recommendations for services will be essential in this dynamic, field-based role. You’ll often work independently with a fluctuating caseload and will be empowered to manage your schedule in response to the district’s evolving needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California Occupational Therapy license
- Prior experience working in California schools
- Proficient in administering the BOT 3 and Peabody assessments to students ages 3-22 with a range of disabilities
- Strong skills in utilizing assessment data to communicate with families and support service recommendations
- Ability and willingness to independently manage a changing, potentially itinerant caseload with little direct district support
- Bilingual Spanish skills preferred, though not required
- Only Occupational Therapists considered; this position is not open to OTAs
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and provide direct therapy to students in K-12 settings
- Consult with educators and families regarding intervention strategies
- Create and manage your own schedule to best meet student and district needs
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in accordance with district and legal requirements
