Occupational Therapist School Setting in Schaumburg, IL
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students across multiple schools near Schaumburg, IL for the upcoming academic year. This full-time, itinerant position lets you utilize your expertise across elementary, middle, and high school settings, working with a diverse range of students from Pre-K through transition age (up to 22). You’ll collaborate with educational teams to assess, plan, and provide occupational therapy services tailored to each student’s needs—all while fostering growth and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services within school environments
- Manage an itinerant caseload across several assigned schools
- Evaluate students to determine appropriate OT interventions
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other specialists for holistic student support
- Maintain necessary records and progress documentation in compliance with district and state regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input for goal planning and modifications
- Adjust service delivery to accommodate varying school schedules and needs
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Active clinical license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Active educator license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Previous school-based OT experience is highly valued
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to travel between multiple school sites as scheduled
- Commitment to completing required credentialing and fingerprinting promptly
