Step into an enriching contract opportunity supporting students as an Occupational Therapist for the 2025-2026 school year in the dynamic Washoe County area. Your expertise will impact the lives of elementary and secondary students (caseload: 50-55) as you collaborate across one to two locations within a supportive district that is committed to providing dedicated therapy spaces and training on its IEP system.
In this full-time role (37.5 hours/week), you’ll conduct traditional OT services, including therapy, assessments, and evaluations, while playing a key role in each student’s educational journey.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Nevada Occupational Therapy (OT) License required
- Prior experience in school-based OT settings is highly desirable
- Ability to manage a mixed-age caseload in elementary and secondary schools
- Strong assessment, evaluation, and documentation skills
- Collaborative attitude for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with IEP procedures; willingness to participate in district-provided training
- Dedicated to fostering inclusive learning environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group occupational therapy to students with diverse needs
- Conduct and document OT assessments, evaluations, and IEP participation
- Partner with educational staff and families to develop and monitor student goals
- Engage in team meetings and provide indirect services as needed
- Travel between one to two district-wide assignments (itinerant travel paid)
- Participate in ongoing professional development
