School Occupational Therapist | Spotsylvania, Virginia

Dedicated to empowering K–12 students, this contract opportunity places a skilled Occupational Therapist at the heart of student support in a Virginia educational setting. Working closely with classroom educators, special education teams, and families, you will make a meaningful impact by guiding students toward greater independence and academic achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver both direct and consultative occupational therapy services according to students’ IEPs
- Complete timely and comprehensive evaluations and assessments to identify individual student needs
- Design and implement customized therapy plans to foster development, learning, and daily living skills
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to ensure cohesive support for each child
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in accordance with Virginia and district standards
- Actively participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise for goal setting and progress updates
- Address student needs in fine motor development, sensory processing, and overall functional abilities
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Valid Virginia OT license or eligibility to obtain one before start
- Current NBCOT certification
- Prior experience in a school-based setting is advantageous, but not required
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills
Schedule:
- Expect approximately 37.5 hours per week
- Follows the academic calendar, including all observed holidays and school breaks
