Step into a rewarding contract role providing occupational therapy services for middle school students in the Washington DC area—just 45 minutes south of the city. Beginning in early August and extending through late May, this flexible, part-time position invites you to make a meaningful difference in a supportive school setting, with a confirmed caseload and engaging collaboration.
Your expertise will be centered on serving two middle schools, with the possibility of an additional elementary school assignment as needed. The work involves both direct and consultative services, addressing a caseload of approximately 25 students (10 direct, 15 consultative). You’ll also have the opportunity to conduct evaluations as the school year progresses, ensuring each student receives tailored support to succeed academically and personally. The flexible 20-hour weekly schedule can be designed to complement other professional commitments, making it an excellent fit for those balancing multiple roles.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current and active Virginia Occupational Therapy license required
- Background in school-based OT highly preferred
- Ability to fulfill Virginia Department of Social Services check and TB test promptly
- Experience providing both direct and consult services in educational or pediatric settings
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Dedication to fostering student growth and autonomy
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy interventions to middle school students
- Provide consultative guidance to educators, parents, and school personnel
- Complete assessments and re-evaluations as required
- Maintain accurate documentation per school and ethical standards
- Collaborate regularly with other professionals and parents
