Occupational Therapist School Setting in Tacoma, WA
Step into an impactful contract opportunity supporting students across a dynamic K-12 environment as an Occupational Therapist. You'll collaborate with educators and families, providing essential OT services to help learners reach their fullest potential during the 26/27 school year. This full-time, 37.5 hours per week position involves an engaging blend of assessments, therapy sessions, and IEP participation. Caseloads are organized by direct service minutes—expect to deliver between 900 and 950 minutes weekly, typically spread across four or five schools, offering a well-rounded experience with both elementary and secondary students.
Essential Qualifications:
- Active Washington OT license, plus ESA certification
- Strong preference for candidates with a background in school-based occupational therapy
- Ability to effectively manage a flexible schedule across multiple campus sites
- Commitment to supporting diverse learners and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services according to students' IEP goals
- Conduct evaluations and re-assessments to inform recommendations and programming
- Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress notes, and therapy data
- Contribute as an engaged member of IEP teams, collaborating closely with staff and families
- Support students' development in fine motor, sensory processing, and self-care skills
