Step into a rewarding contract opportunity dedicated to supporting students’ growth and independence as an Occupational Therapist during the 2026-2027 school year. This in-person position is based near Tacoma, WA, serving 30 hours per week from August 31st through June 17th.
In this role, you’ll work across two unique educational environments—a K-12 school focused on home-schooled students attending supplemental classes (including a Montessori program) and a local elementary. As the sole opening at a .8 FTE, you’ll have the chance to build impactful relationships and deliver personalized therapy plans.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license for Washington State (required)
- Recent experience in school-based OT practice preferred
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and school documentation procedures
- Confidence working with students from diverse backgrounds and grade levels
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators and families
- Ability to travel between two school sites as needed
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of students’ needs, skills, and abilities
- Design and implement effective interventions for students K-12, including those receiving Montessori educational support
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure integrated student care
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing OT expertise and progress documentation
- Provide direct therapy sessions, both one-on-one and in small groups, focusing on daily living, fine motor, and sensory integration skills
- Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with school and state requirements
