We are seeking a qualified and experienced Remote Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide virtual occupational therapy services for PK–12 students across South Carolina. This position supports students by promoting independence and success in academic, social, and daily living skills through evidence-based therapeutic interventions delivered via teletherapy.

Remote Occupational Therapist (OT) – South Carolina

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Remote Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide virtual occupational therapy services for PK–12 students across South Carolina. This position supports students by promoting independence and success in academic, social, and daily living skills through evidence-based therapeutic interventions delivered via teletherapy.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

• Current South Carolina Occupational Therapist license or eligibility to obtain and maintain South Carolina licensure, as required.

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing occupational therapy caseloads in both school-based and clinical settings.

• At least 2.5 years of experience providing occupational therapy services through telehealth.

• Experience managing PK–12 caseloads of up to 60 students.

• Experience working with students diagnosed with:

  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Cerebral Palsy

• Proficient in administering and interpreting the following assessments:

  • BOT-2 (Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency, Second Edition)

  • Sensory Profile

  • Sensory Processing Measure (SPM)

  • Beery VMI

  • PDMS-2 (Peabody Developmental Motor Scales, Second Edition)

• Experience with South Carolina school-based special education documentation and service requirements, including documentation related to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

• Experience using electronic systems for documentation, service tracking, and maintaining student records.

• Strong knowledge of South Carolina school-based occupational therapy practices and teletherapy service delivery.

• Strong understanding of special education regulations and requirements applicable to South Carolina public schools.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality virtual occupational therapy services to PK–12 students throughout South Carolina.

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor student progress.

• Collaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, school administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success.

• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute occupational therapy recommendations, goals, progress updates, and other required documentation.

• Provide services and interventions designed to support:

  • Academic performance and classroom participation

  • Fine and gross motor development

  • Sensory processing and regulation

  • Play and leisure skills

  • Social participation

  • Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

  • Functional independence

• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with district, South Carolina, and applicable federal requirements.

• Communicate regularly with school teams and families regarding student progress and occupational therapy needs.

• Deliver effective teletherapy services using evidence-based practices and appropriate virtual tools and strategies.
