Step into a rewarding contract position supporting students' academic and developmental journeys in the Topeka area. This opportunity runs from August 6, 2026, through May 26, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 35-40 hours. The caseload will vary, with a strong likelihood of working across multiple elementary and/or middle schools. Flexibility is offered as the position may be in person or follow a hybrid model, with three days onsite and two days virtual.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license
- Current CPR certification
- Prior experience in a school-based OT setting preferred
- Familiarity with Medicaid billing processes is a plus
- Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and other support staff
- Comfortable managing diverse caseloads across different grade levels
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students
- Document sessions and track student progress effectively
- Complete necessary Medicaid billing in accordance with school and legal requirements
- Work between various school buildings as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and the development of goals and accommodations
- Employ best practices for both virtual and in-person therapy delivery
