You’ll primarily work at two middle schools, with a possible addition of an elementary school, supporting a caseload of 25 students. Ten students require direct therapy, while 15 benefit from consultative services. Your expertise will play a vital role in assessing, treating, and consulting with staff and families, fostering students’ functional independence and academic success.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, active Occupational Therapy license from the state of Virginia
- Prior experience in school-based OT or similar settings preferred
- Comfortable serving middle school-aged children; pediatric experience a plus
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate clearly
- Prepared to begin required credentialing, including VA Dept. of Social Services check and TB Test, immediately
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students in accordance with IEP goals
- Complete relevant assessments and participate in ongoing student evaluations
- Document progress, maintain compliance with state and district guidelines
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families to promote student engagement
- Adapt services responsively as new evaluations arise throughout the school year
