Occupational Therapist School Setting in Usaf Academy, CO
Step into an impactful opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist for a full-time contract covering a maternity leave from September 8th through the end of November. This assignment is located near Usaf Academy, CO, and offers the chance to support young learners in a dynamic educational setting.
You’ll primarily serve an elementary caseload, providing vital OT services and interventions that help children succeed in their daily school activities. In addition, you’ll work with a handful of students who present with significant developmental needs, making your expertise especially valuable to their growth and participation.
Your schedule will include four days per week within the district and one day serving a site outside the district, offering a balanced mix of environments and student needs.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Master's degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current Occupational Therapist licensure in Colorado (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience in school-based OT strongly preferred
- Ability to assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans
- Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families
- Skilled at adapting interventions for elementary-aged children and students with severe developmental disabilities
- Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations, develop goals, and create treatment plans for students
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services within classroom and therapy settings
- Document all services and student progress per school and legal guidelines
- Engage in IEP meetings and collaborate with educators and families
- Travel between designated school sites as scheduled
