Occupational Therapist School Setting in Usaf Academy, CO
Step into an impactful opportunity as a full-time Occupational Therapist on a contract assignment covering maternity leave from September 8th through the end of November. As the primary OT, you’ll devote four days per week to working within the district and one day serving a site outside the district, allowing for a dynamic, varied caseload and the opportunity to collaborate with multiple school teams.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Occupational Therapist licensure appropriate for schools
- Previous experience in a school setting, especially with elementary-aged children
- Competency supporting students with various developmental needs
- Ability to adapt interventions for both general education and more intensive special education populations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students per their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Conduct assessments and contribute to IEP meetings by sharing observations and recommendations
- Adapt and modify classroom materials for student access and engagement
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and communications
- Consult with teachers and support staff to ensure students’ therapeutic and classroom needs are met
- Travel between assigned sites as needed
