Occupational Therapist School Setting in Washoe Valley, NV
Step into a rewarding contract role serving students as an Occupational Therapist in a supportive educational environment near Washoe Valley, NV. With a manageable caseload of approximately 50-55, you’ll work across one or two locations within the district, providing essential OT services with travel between sites fully covered.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Nevada Occupational Therapy license required
- Experience in a school-based OT setting is strongly preferred
- Ability to manage a mixed-age caseload and adapt to diverse student needs
- Proficiency in conducting therapy, assessments, and evaluations in line with IEP requirements
- Comfort with itinerant work and navigating multiple school locations
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group OT services as dictated by IEPs
- Complete thorough evaluations and ongoing progress monitoring
- Collaborate with special education staff and participate in student IEP meetings
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the district’s IEP system, with training provided
- Engage actively in team meetings and integrate feedback to support best practices
- Utilize designated therapy spaces to provide focused, effective interventions
