Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Arlington Heights, IL

Key Qualifications:
- Current clinical license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Active educator license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Previous experience working in school-based settings highly valued
- Strong collaboration and time management skills for an itinerant schedule
- Preparedness to complete time-sensitive credentialing, including fingerprinting
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students according to individualized educational plans
- Travel between schools within the district to provide specialized COTA support
- Help foster student independence and participation in classroom and daily activities
- Work closely with Occupational Therapists, teachers, and families to enhance student outcomes
- Contribute insights to the multidisciplinary team, attending evaluations, meetings, and professional development sessions as required
This contract-based, full-time assignment starts as soon as possible and extends through early June 2027, offering 35-37.5 hours per week (7-7.5 hours per day). You’ll play a vital part in enriching students’ school experiences through hands-on, personalized care, with exposure to all school-age populations and a variety of caseloads.
