Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Des Plaines, IL

Key Qualifications:
- Valid clinical license through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Active educator license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Previous experience in school-based occupational therapy is preferred
- Strong adaptability and organizational skills, with the ability to serve multiple campuses in an itinerant role
- Commitment to completing all time-sensitive credentialing, including fingerprinting before the start date
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services and implement individualized education plan (IEP) goals for students with diverse needs
- Collaborate with supervising Occupational Therapists, teachers, and other educational staff
- Travel between assigned school sites within the district; schedule and caseload may fluctuate based on school assignment
- Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and regulatory standards
- Work with students from Pre K through transition age to foster independence and skill development in school environments
This contract runs through June 9, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 35–37.5 hours per week (exact hours align with each school’s schedule). The assignment involves a range of campuses within the district, providing a unique opportunity to touch lives across multiple age groups and learning stages.
