Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly valued
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques to a variety of age groups, ranging from kindergarten to high school
- Passion for helping children and adolescents develop life and academic skills
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to K-12 students as prescribed in IEPs
- Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist
- Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to team-based reports
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student participation in school activities
- Adapt therapy activities to meet the individual needs and goals of each student
- Support generalization of skills across classroom and school environments
