Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Chicopee, MA
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students from Pre-K through 12th grade as a traveling Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) working across multiple school sites throughout the academic year. As a valued contract professional in this role, you’ll float between school locations, delivering essential occupational therapy services within an educational setting.
Currently, interviews are pending while details of the caseload are finalized. What’s established is a consistent weekly schedule (anticipated at 29–30 hours) spanning September 3, 2026, to June 24, 2027. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and support students’ success and independence in the classroom.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid COTA licensure in Massachusetts.
- School-based COTA experience preferred but not required.
- Skilled at working with Pre-K through high school-aged children.
- Adaptable and able to work in a dynamic, multi-site environment.
- Strong communication, documentation, and organization abilities.
- Commitment to student-centered services and collaborative team approaches.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide direct occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to implement IEP goals.
- Deliver services at multiple sites, including early childhood and elementary schools, with a schedule spanning several days at each location.
- Accurately document sessions and progress notes in compliance with school and regulatory guidelines.
- Adapt therapeutic strategies to meet diverse student needs and ages.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to assessment processes as needed.
