Key Skills and Experience:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program required
- Current and active COTA certification
- Valid state licensure (or eligibility) as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Prior experience working with children or within an educational or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong communication and collaborative abilities
- Ability to adapt to varying caseloads and work independently under supervision of an OTR
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Assist students in developing or strengthening functional skills, such as fine motor coordination, self-care, and adaptive techniques
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, staff, and families to support student progress
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation of services provided and student outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional insights and recommendations
