Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience working with pediatric populations, especially in school environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, students, and families
- Ability to adapt to different settings and work independently as well as part of a team
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed Occupational Therapists in delivering therapy services to students with developmental, physical, or emotional challenges
- Implement individualized therapy plans within school environments, ensuring each student receives compassionate, effective support
- Monitor students’ progress and document sessions following all professional and ethical guidelines
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Engage with teachers and support staff to help facilitate carryover of therapeutic strategies in the classroom
