Occupational Therapist School Setting in Arcadia, LA

Step into an impactful short-term opportunity supporting students and staff virtually as a part-time occupational therapist. This contract role offers the chance to make a difference across grade levels while enjoying the flexibility of remote work. You’ll be a key figure in conducting re-evaluations, managing PreK evaluations (with a focus on Fridays), completing IEPs at least once per week, and providing essential oversight for a certified occupational therapy assistant.
Your expertise will be put to use in a collaborative, supportive educational setting committed to quality service during this contract of one to two months, beginning as soon as possible. Following the end of the primary contract, there is potential for an ongoing arrangement supervising a COTA.
Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana Occupational Therapy license required
- Proven experience in school-based OT, including evaluation and re-evaluation processes
- Comfortable working virtually and utilizing telepractice tools effectively
- Ability to supervise and mentor a COTA
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Prior experience with IEP completion and PreK assessments preferred
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough re-evaluations for students across various grade levels
- Conduct PreK evaluations, particularly on Fridays
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of IEP documentation at least one day per week
- Provide supervision and guidance to a COTA during the contract and possibly ongoing after
- Maintain professional communication with educational staff and families
- Deliver services in a virtual format with proficiency and compassion
