A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated professional eager to support learners in a specialized setting. This full-time, onsite position offers 35 hours per week for the upcoming academic year and begins with a comprehensive new hire orientation from August 12th to August 14th.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Hold an active Illinois OT or COTA license (must be sent with application; license status can be verified via the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation)
- Experience or coursework in school-based occupational therapy strongly preferred
- Understanding of IEP processes, special education services, and age-appropriate interventions for K-12 students
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Creative problem solving to foster inclusive practices for diverse student needs
- Commitment to a fully onsite role
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and provide direct occupational therapy services for K-12 students
- Collaborate with teachers and special education professionals to develop and implement IEPs and therapy goals
- Document progress, maintain records, and communicate effectively with families and teams
- Attend professional development and orientation sessions
- Adapt interventions based on student strengths and the caseload assigned
