Occupational Therapist School Setting in Arlington Heights, IL

Make a difference in the lives of students by providing dedicated occupational therapy support to children in grades 3-5. This school-based contract position is conveniently scheduled at an intermediate building near Arlington Heights, IL, for the 2026-2027 academic year. The role offers flexibility, with 2 to 3 days of work each week—either two full days or several partial days—between the hours of 8:05 am and 2:45 pm, with the school year running from September 8, 2026, through June 16, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of Illinois
- Previous experience providing OT services in a school setting, especially with elementary-aged students
- Strong understanding of best practices for fine motor and sensory interventions
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work closely with teachers, staff, and families
- Ability to provide both consultative and direct clinical services
- Organizational skills to manage a caseload of approximately 25 students
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver consultative occupational therapy services, focusing on supporting student access to learning environments
- Provide direct interventions in fine motor and sensory support for identified students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education staff to design and implement appropriate strategies and accommodations
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of effective goals and plans
- Maintain accurate documentation of progress, services rendered, and communication with staff and families
