Exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist interested in supporting students in a dynamic school setting near Atlanta, GA! This contracted, part-time role involves delivering essential occupational therapy services to two students in the 5th and 6th grades, with sessions focused on fostering student achievement and promoting independence in the educational environment.
Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Occupational Therapist license and valid GaPSC Certification—both are required
- Previous experience in a school-based setting highly preferred
- Strong background in serving students with disabilities is an asset
- Must provide and maintain up-to-date clearance documentation
- Ability to deliver all services onsite, as this is not a remote position
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy interventions (30 minutes per week per student) tailored to the needs outlined in each student’s IEP
- Evaluate students’ needs relating to fine motor skills, sensory processing, and participation in school activities
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, special education professionals, and support staff
- Make recommendations on classroom accommodations, modifications, and strategies to improve student access and engagement
- Maintain thorough documentation, track student progress, and participate in team meetings
- Ensure compliance with all IEP mandates and regulatory requirements
