On this part-time assignment, you’ll expand your expertise through collaboration in a progressive school environment, working directly with two dedicated 5th and 6th-grade students. Gaining exposure to diverse educational practices and leadership styles, you’ll have the chance to further diversify your resume, grow as a therapist, and make a real difference in students’ lives—all while exploring new locales.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active Georgia Occupational Therapist license and GaPSC certification (both required)
- Prior school-based OT experience is preferred
- Experience supporting students with disabilities is a plus
- Capable of obtaining or already possessing all necessary clearance documentation
- Ability to provide onsite services (this role is exclusively onsite)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct OT services (30 minutes/week per student) in accordance with IEPs
- Assess individual student needs and target developmental goals (fine motor, sensory, functional skills)
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and school teams to optimize student success
- Suggest classroom accommodations and interventions to enhance participation
- Maintain clear documentation and progress records for each student
- Communicate proactively and effectively with school staff about student progress and requirements
