Occupational Therapist School Setting in Aurora, IL
Make an impact by supporting high school students as a contract occupational therapist for an assignment beginning September 1, 2026, through January 15, 2027. Located near Aurora, IL, this full-time, onsite position provides the opportunity to work collaboratively with a dedicated education team and assist students in maximizing their participation and success in the school environment.
Qualifications:
- Must hold an active Illinois Occupational Therapist (OT) license
- Proven experience providing occupational therapy in school settings
- Strong background working with adolescent populations, specifically high school students
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals
- Comfortable providing services in-person (this is not a remote or COTA position)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to the unique needs of high school students
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to help students achieve academic and functional goals
- Support students in fine motor, sensory processing, self-regulation, and daily living skills within the school context
- Contribute insights and strategies during IEP meetings and written documentation
- Monitor student progress, adjust interventions as necessary, and maintain detailed records in compliance with school and state requirements
