School Occupational Therapist - Belvidere, Illinois

This full-time, contract role spans the academic year and involves serving students across two sites, with each day dedicated to one location—eliminating extra travel during the school day. The position offers 37.5 hours per week, tailored caseloads by age group preference (early childhood, elementary, middle, or high school), and exposure to both general education and self-contained special education classrooms.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Occupational Therapist license required
- Prior experience in pediatric settings or school-based therapy preferred
- Familiarity with sensory integration techniques
- Demonstrated ability to create, implement, and document progress on treatment goals for school-aged children
- Strong communication skills and adaptability in diverse educational settings
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services in accordance with IEPs and district guidelines
- Support students in developing fine motor, sensory processing, and adaptive skills essential for classroom participation
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to ensure an inclusive and effective learning environment
- Maintain clear documentation of student progress and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Adapt interventions to meet the needs of varying age groups and learning profiles
