This full-time position is available immediately through the end of the school year, covering a leave vacancy. Assignments will be across multiple sites, with current expectations including Suitland, Rosaryville, and Capital Heights elementary schools. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Maryland (or eligibility for licensure)
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and related documentation
- Comfort supporting children with autism or specialized learning needs is a plus
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to travel between school sites as assigned
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to elementary-aged students, following evaluation results and IEP mandates
- Collaborate with special education teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement student goals
- Document therapy sessions, progress reports, and maintain accurate records
- Contribute expertise to multidisciplinary teams serving students with a range of abilities, including those in autism programs
- Adapt interventions to varied learning styles and environments across the schools
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing student evaluations
