School Occupational Therapist | Bristol, Connecticut
Step into a dynamic school-based role focused on supporting students from Pre-K through 12th grade as an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This is a full-time, contract position covering an FMLA maternity leave for approximately 12 weeks, with a strong possibility of extension. Key Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut Occupational Therapist (OT) license, or Connecticut COTA license/certification (including CT DPH License and NBCOT Exam completion)
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Comfort and familiarity working with students with varying needs and disabilities, including a broad age range (Pre-K–12)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and IEP teams
- Reliable transportation to access multiple campuses as required
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students throughout the district, adapting interventions to diverse student populations
- Collaborate with teachers and related service professionals to implement student-centered treatment plans
- Provide thorough and timely documentation of student progress and treatment outcomes
- For COTAs: work collaboratively under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist in accordance with regulations
- Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and administrators to ensure seamless service delivery
Please note: This role specifically covers a maternity leave, and while an extension is likely, a longer-term contract cannot be guaranteed at this time.
