Step into a dynamic, school-based role as an Occupational Therapist, where you’ll support students from Pre-K to 12th grade throughout a district-wide assignment. This full-time contract opportunity is designed to cover an FMLA leave for approximately 12 weeks, beginning as soon as possible, with a strong likelihood of extension. Commitment to the initial maternity leave contract is essential, although future opportunities may arise.
As a critical member of the educational team, you’ll collaborate with colleagues to deliver evidence-based therapy, help students maximize their participation and independence, and contribute to a supportive learning environment. Candidates holding an active Connecticut OT license are welcomed, as are those who are certified COTAs under CT DPH with NBCOT credentials.
Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut Occupational Therapist (OT) license or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license (with NBCOT and CT DPH credentials)
- School-based experience highly preferred
- Experience working with students from Pre-K through 12th grade
- Reliable transportation for travel between district sites
- Flexible and adaptable, comfortable serving multiple campuses as needed
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy assessment, intervention, and documentation for a diverse range of student needs across all grade levels
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and families to support students’ IEP goals and functional participation in school activities
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services as specified by educational teams
- For COTAs: work under supervision of an OT, adhering to prescribed treatment plans and documentation requirements
