Occupational Therapist School Setting - Bristol, CT

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This full-time assignment is based within a district-wide setting, supporting students from Pre-K through 12th grade. The initial contract is designed to cover an FMLA-related maternity leave for approximately 12 weeks, with a strong potential for extension.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut OT license or Connecticut COTA license/certification (CT DPH License, NBCOT exam passed)
- Experience in a school-based setting is preferred
- Reliable transportation is a must
- Comfortable working with diverse student populations across all grade levels
- Commitment to a temporary assignment, understanding that while an extension is likely it is not guaranteed
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with educational teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students district-wide in support of their educational needs
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to optimize student success
- Develop, implement, and document individualized treatment plans and progress
- Adapt intervention strategies for a variety of disabilities and age groups
- For COTAs, work under the supervision and guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist as required
- Maintain compliance with district and state documentation standards
