School Occupational Therapist - Bristol, Connecticut

Step into a dynamic educational environment as a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), serving students from Pre-K through 12th grade on a district-wide contract assignment. This role focuses on providing essential occupational therapy services across multiple campuses, covering an FMLA leave with the strong possibility of extension beyond the initial approximately 12-week contract.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut OT license, or CT DPH License with NBCOT certification (for COTA candidates)
- School-based therapy experience strongly preferred
- Experience supporting students with diverse abilities and disability populations
- Reliable transportation to facilitate travel across the district
- Commitment to fulfilling a temporary maternity leave assignment, understanding that an extension is probable but not guaranteed
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to students Pre-K through 12th grade
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized educational and therapeutic plans
- Document student progress meticulously and communicate effectively with school staff and families
- Adapt interventions to meet the unique needs of students across multiple campuses
- For COTAs: work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist as required by state and district guidelines
