Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working with early childhood students in vibrant educational environments across Lackawanna County. As a dedicated occupational therapist, you’ll support young learners in their developmental journey, helping them reach key milestones and fostering independence in school settings. This onsite position offers a schedule of 21 hours per week, spread across 2-3 days, with growth potential to expand to 5 days over time.
Your work will focus on providing skilled occupational therapy interventions within early childhood classrooms, collaborating with educators and families to ensure every child receives individualized support. You’ll have the chance to play an essential role guiding foundational skills for success in and out of the classroom.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current, active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Pennsylvania
- Ability to provide (or willingness to promptly obtain) Pennsylvania clearances
- Prior experience working in schools or early childhood settings preferred
- Strong background supporting younger children with diverse needs
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Comfort with technology for virtual interviews (Zoom)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to early learners in school settings
- Conduct student assessments, create and implement individualized plans
- Maintain thorough documentation for accountability and compliance
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student progress
- Adapt interventions as needed for growth and achievement
