Occupational Therapist School Setting in Chester, VT
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity making a tangible difference in K-12 education! This district-wide position serves four buildings, supporting students in grades K-12. The role welcomes both Occupational Therapists and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs)—COTAs will provide services for 5th–12th grades, as well as selected 2nd–4th grade students under the supervision of a district OT. This is a full-time assignment, offering between 35 and 37.5 hours each week, beginning late August and continuing through mid-June.
Ideal candidates are committed to helping students achieve greater independence and access their curriculum through expert occupational therapy interventions. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a seasoned team and have a meaningful impact in a supportive school setting.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Vermont Occupational Therapy Certificate required
- Experience providing OT services in a school environment preferred
- New graduates with strong clinical training encouraged to apply
- Team-oriented, flexible, and comfortable working across multiple school sites
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver skilled OT assessments and interventions to diverse K–12 student populations
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans and goals
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, families, and administration
- Assist in IEP development and participate in team meetings
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
