In this contract role for the 2026–2027 school year, you’ll provide essential OT services to a soon-to-be 6-year-old who is currently on homebound instruction due to complex medical needs and multiple disabilities. Your expertise will help foster independence and enhance quality of life for this student.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid New York Occupational Therapist license required
- Background or strong interest in pediatric therapy and school-based OT preferred
- Experience working with children who have multiple disabilities and medical needs is highly valued
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team through regular virtual meetings
- Compassionate, flexible, and reliable approach to therapy in a home-based setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy sessions 3 times per week, 45 minutes per session, at the student’s home
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the student’s unique needs and goals
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of progress and interventions
- Actively participate in virtual team meetings with other service providers every 5 weeks to ensure coordinated care
- Communicate effectively with caregivers, medical professionals, and educational staff
