Occupational Therapist School Setting in Decatur, GA

This part-time contract opportunity is designed for a skilled Occupational Therapist ready to deliver exceptional care to a small caseload in grades 5 and 6. You’ll be the go-to professional for two students, ensuring they receive the specialized support they need to access and succeed in their educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, valid Georgia Occupational Therapist license and GaPSC certification (both required)
- Experience in school-based occupational therapy settings strongly preferred
- Familiarity with students with disabilities is an advantage
- Ability to provide services onsite only
- Successful completion of required clearance documentation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services, providing 30 minutes per week for each 5th/6th-grade student as specified in IEPs
- Assess students’ fine motor, sensory processing, and functional needs impacting their school participation
- Collaborate actively with teachers, special education professionals, and school staff to support students’ progress
- Recommend classroom accommodations and strategies tailored to each student’s needs
- Maintain clear, timely documentation and monitor progress, ensuring compliance with IEP goals and school district policies
- Foster open communication with the school team to ensure ongoing alignment on student support
