School Occupational Therapist - Denver, Colorado
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a dedicated Occupational Therapist in the vibrant North Denver area. This itinerant role offers the chance to provide direct and indirect OT services across a diverse group of schools—including two elementary schools, one middle school, and to students receiving homebound instruction. With flexibility to design your weekly schedule as four full days or spread across five days, you can ensure both service delivery and participation in meetings, optimizing support for up to 40-60 students.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Colorado
- Current DORA certification
- CO Department of Education OT license
- Experience in school-based OT preferred
- Comfortable with itinerant placements and supporting pre-K through middle school populations
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to balance workloads and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective occupational therapy interventions tailored for elementary, middle, and homebound students
- Assess, develop, and implement individualized educational and therapy plans
- Document student progress and provide updates to IEP teams and families
- Participate in school meetings, IEPs, and interdisciplinary collaborations
- Attend the mandatory Summer Symposium New Hire Orientation from July 27-31, 2026
- Begin on-site service August 3, 2026; contract runs through May 21, 2027
- Ensure equitable service provision, especially at sites with pre-kindergarten and specialized programs
