Location: Elgin, Illinois
Job Type: Full-Time, Contract
Schedule: 35–37.5 Hours per Week

We are actively seeking five licensed Occupational Therapists to join a dynamic school district team in Elgin, Illinois for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate School Occupational Therapist to make a meaningful impact while supporting students across multiple educational settings.
As a School-Based Occupational Therapist, you will provide evaluation, intervention, consultation, and support services to students from Pre-K through Transition age (22 years old). This itinerant position serves multiple schools within the district, including elementary, middle, and high school campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy evaluations and assessments for students with disabilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals.
- Deliver direct and indirect occupational therapy services in school settings.
- Collaborate with special education teachers, school psychologists, speech therapists, administrators, and families.
- Support student participation in academic, social, and functional school activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Travel between assigned school sites throughout the district.
Student Population
- Ages: Pre-K through Transition Program (up to age 22)
- Caseload size varies based on assigned schools
- Multiple school assignments throughout the district
Schedule
- Full-time position
- 35–37.5 hours per week
- 7–7.5 hours per day
- School start and end times vary by campus assignment
Qualifications
Required:
- Active Occupational Therapist license through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Active Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Educator License
- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary educational teams
Preferred:
- Previous school-based occupational therapy experience
- Experience with IEP development and special education services
- Familiarity with a variety of student disabilities and educational accommodations
